This policy explains how Codatoz handles personal data on the SMARTER.WORLD website (smarter.world). We've tried to keep it short and plain. If something is unclear, email us at info@smarter.world.

The policy has three parts:
- What applies to the whole website: who we are, your rights, cookies, who we share data with, and how we protect it.
- What the website collects and why.
- Contact and complaints.
Part 1: What applies to the whole website
1.1 Who we are

In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Codatoz. We are the controller of the personal data described here: under the GDPR, the party that decides why personal data is used.
1.2 Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
- correct data that's wrong or incomplete;
- delete your data ("right to be forgotten"), unless we must keep it by law;
- restrict how we use your data, or object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
- data portability: receive your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent (for example analytics cookies). This doesn't affect processing that happened before you withdrew it.
To use any of these rights, email info@smarter.world. We may ask you to confirm your identity, usually by replying from the email address we have on file. We answer within one month.
1.3 Cookies and similar technologies
We use as few cookies as possible. Strictly necessary cookies don't need your consent. Any other cookies are set only after you agree in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time.

We don't use advertising cookies or social media trackers, and we don't sell personal data.
1.4 Who we share data with
We don't sell or rent personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the website (our processors), under a data processing agreement, and only as far as they need it:

We may also disclose data when the law requires it, for example to comply with a court order, or to protect our rights and the security of our website.
1.5 Transfers outside the European Economic Area
We keep data in the EU where we can. When a provider processes data outside the EEA (for example in the US), we make sure it's protected by an adequacy decision of the European Commission (such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for certified companies) or by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
1.6 How we protect your data
- All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS), and data is encrypted at rest.
- Only a small number of Codatoz staff can access production systems.
1.7 Children
Our website isn't aimed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.
1.8 Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our website or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
Part 2: What the website collects
2.1 Contact form and "Keep me informed" form
When you send us a message, we receive your name, email address, subject and message by email.
- Why: to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (GDPR art. 6(1)(f) and (b)).
- We don't add you to a mailing list.
- Retention: we keep your message as long as needed to handle your question and any follow-up, and delete it within two years after our last contact.
2.2 Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website (for example which pages are visited and from which country). Google Analytics doesn't store your IP address, and we don't use Google's advertising features or share analytics data with Google for its own purposes.
- Legal basis: your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time via the cookie settings.
- Retention: analytics data is kept for 14 months.
2.3 Server logs
Our hosting provider records technical data about requests (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver the website and protect it against abuse.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website (art. 6(1)(f)).
- Retention: deleted automatically after at most 30 days.

You can also contact the authority in the EU country where you live.
